Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the level of sexual attitude and grade differences of sexual attitude among elementary school children.

Method: The participants of this study were 407 elementary school children from 1st to 6th grade of two elementary schools in G City. The research instrument was a questionnaire to measure sexual attitude of elementary school children. The data were analyzed by average, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, and Cronbach's ¥á coefficients using SPSS PC+ 17.0

Result: Sexual attitude of elementary school children was generally positive and significantly more positive in 1st and 2nd grade, in high level of school records and high economic status than those of other groups. Main resource of sexual information of children was their teachers. But, The group who has never heard about the sexual information was in 3rd grade.

Conclusion: The systematic and efficient sexual education program should be developed for a suitable grade of elementary school children and must carry into effect continuously.
